Klezmer Accordion Lecture/Performance – Jim Rehban

Jim Rehban

About the Workshop

Klezmer Music is the soulful and ecstatic celebratory music of Eastern European Jews.  Noted local Klezmer accordionist Jim Rebhan will provide background information about the accordion, its use in Klezmer music, and the musical style and its cultural context.  He will perform a selection of traditional and original pieces in  more or less chronological order illustrating the style and its evolution in America.  There will be time at the end for questions and answers.
